街(Drury Lane)的皇家歌劇院(Theatre Royal)首次公演，共演出4264場，於1999年10
月30日才結束。在1991年4月11日《西貢小姐》在美國紐約百老匯歌劇院公演，於2001
年1月28日結束，共演出4092場。

《西貢小姐》是普契尼歌劇《蝴蝶夫人》的現代改編版。 它講述的，也是一個亞洲女
子被白人情人拋棄的悲劇故事。故事背景被挪到 20世紀70年代的西貢，而《蝴蝶夫人
》裡的美國軍官和日本歌妓被改成了美國大兵和越南吧女。
